Evan Fay is from Brookfield, Missouri. He is a health science student with an emphasis in rehabilitation science and a minor in business. Evan intends to attend physical therapy school upon graduation and one day work as a physical therapist.

“Physical therapy is always growing and inventing new techniques that always keep you on your toes,” Evan says. “The University of Missouri Department of Physical Therapy has a 100 percent board passage and job placement rate for all graduates, therefore I know it is a great option for me to consider moving forward as I prepare for my future career.”

In addition to being a student ambassador, Evan has been involved in campus organizations such as Stumo and his fraternity Phi Delta Theta. his free time, Evan enjoys working out at the Student Rec Center or going to visit different coffee shops in Columbia.

What made you want to pursue a career in health care?

I knew I wanted to be in a field that is always evolving and where you can interact with others while also helping them out, so my decision to pursue a career in health care was an easy choice.

What residence hall did you live in? Were you in a FIG (freshmen interest group)?

I lived in Bluford Hall; I was also in a FIG.

What has been your favorite Mizzou memory?

My favorite memory at Mizzou so far has been Homecoming. Being able to experience tradition as a student is very special, to say the least!

How have you achieved academic success during your time as an undergraduate?

I have achieved academic success by prioritizing my schoolwork first and making sure I understand it. Additionally, not being afraid to ask my professors and teaching assistants questions as well as getting help if needed has been extremely beneficial.

If you could give one piece of advice to incoming freshmen, what would it be?

You’re going to have a lot of extra time, make sure to prioritize it correctly!
