Jake Williams

, University of Missouri School of Health Professions Student Ambassador

Jake is a Health Science major, rehabilitation science emphasis, from O’Fallon Missouri. He plans on attending Physical Therapy school at the University of Missouri upon graduation.

“My advice for incoming students is don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and get involved with what you enjoy,” Jake says. “You’ll meet so many new friends and it will really make a big school feel small.”

In addition to serving on the School of Health Professions Student Ambassador Leadership Team, Jake is a member of the Pre-Physical Therapy Organization and Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Health Pre-Professional honor society. In his free time, Jake enjoys staying active with intramural volleyball, bike rides, and hikes as well as volunteering with Mizzou Alternative Breaks.

I chose Mizzou because I was really impressed with all the School of Health Professions had to offer and the graduate school opportunities.

What should make students choose Mizzou?

Mizzou has a great variety of different well-respected programs as well as many career/involvement opportunities. It also has a beautiful campus in a great town at a low price.

How did you choose your major?

My advisor really assisted in this process by helping me navigate my interests and career goals and finding the major that was best fit for me.

Where is your favorite place to study on campus?

My favorite place to study is anywhere outside or in the student center with friends.

If you could have dinner with one famous Mizzou graduate, who would it be and why?

I would have dinner with Max Scherzer because I’m a big fan of baseball and have loved watching him pitch throughout his career in the MLB.
