Taylor Heizer is from Imperial, Missouri. She is a radiography student while also preparing to attend PA school in the future. She hopes to one day become a physician assistant and work in the pediatrics imaging field.
“Radiography provides a wide variety of work situations and environments, and I like that there are so many different ways to help people within this field,” Taylor says. “I think Mizzou offers a great program because they have a 100 percent job placement after graduation. I also feel there are so many opportunities and resources that can help me succeed.”
In addition to being a student ambassador, Taylor is in Marching Mizzou, where she plays the alto saxophone. In her free time, Taylor enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, and meeting new people in Columbia!
What made you apply to be an SHP Student Ambassador?
I applied to be an SHP Student Ambassador because of the experience I had with the student ambassador I met when I first toured Mizzou. She was very helpful and welcoming, and it was beneficial for me to talk to someone who understood what I was going through and could give me advice. After my tour, I felt so excited about starting my degree and meeting new people. I want to be able to create that same experience for future Mizzou students that my student ambassador created for me.
What has been your favorite Mizzou memory?
It’s a tie between running through the columns at Tiger Walk and marching on Faurot Field for the first time with Marching Mizzou!
If you could give one piece of advice to incoming freshmen, what would it be?
Get involved! I joined Marching Mizzou in my freshman year and it was one of the best decisions I have made in college so far. I felt like I instantly had 300 best friends, but this will happen with any organization here at Mizzou. Joining any group or organization in college will not only help you meet so many new people, but it will make your college experience so much more memorable.
Where is your favorite place to study on campus?
I love to study at the Student Center because of all the spaces that are available. Whether you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing or a space to study with a big group, there is always a place that is convenient for you. There are also lots of places to get food, which is always a plus!
What is your favorite ice cream shop in CoMo?
Nothing will ever beat late-night trips to Andy’s with friends!
