Caitlyn Woodruff, from Waynesville, Missouri, is a Health Science major with an emphasis in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound. In the future, Caitlyn hopes to travel to other countries and provide diagnostic care.
Caitlyn’s best advice for incoming CHS students is to go after what you want to achieve. “Whatever it is that you’ve really been wanting to do or thriving for, do it! If you don’t do it now, you’ll forever wish that you did.”
In addition to serving on the CHS Student Ambassador Leadership Team, Caitlyn is a member of Sigma Eta Rho, the College of Health Sciences professional fraternity, and Marching Mizzou.
Why did you choose to pursue a career in healthcare?
Once I was diagnosed with my heart disease, I was a constant visitor to my local hospitals. My healthcare team was always so caring and took the time to walk through each step to make sure I understood what was happening. I hope to someday be that same source of calming support for people who are scared of whatever diagnosis is to come.
What is your favorite Mizzou memory?
My favorite Mizzou memory is all of my time as a Summer Welcome Leader. My fellow Summer Welcome leaders and I had so much fun welcoming over 600 new tigers to our university in the summer of 2023. I met the most amazing people and truly had the time of my life!
