Maria Hinkamp, from Fenton, Missouri, is a Health Science major with a pre-professional emphasis. After graduation, Maria plans to attend medical school to become a physician. 

Maria’s best advice for incoming Mizzou CHS students is to get involved and say “yes” to new experiences. 

Maria is involved in Greek Life as the Director of Service and Philanthropy for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi. She is also a researcher for the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute. 

Why did you choose to pursue a career in healthcare?  

A career in healthcare combines my passion for science and how the body works with my desire to work directly with patients.

What is your favorite coffee spot in Columbia?

My favorite coffee spot has to be Shortwave!

What is your favorite Mizzou memory?

My favorite Mizzou memory is probably the very first Homecoming weekend I experienced as a freshman; it was the first time I got to show my friends and family from home what it’s like to be a Tiger!
