Degree and graduation year: Master of Health Administration, 2013
Current position: Executive director of business operations and strategic partnerships, BJC HealthCare
What have you been up to since graduating from the MHA program at Mizzou?
I got married and have been busy working!
When it comes to your career so far, what are you most proud of?
My ability to grow and expand my scope within a large, complex organization. Having the opportunity to grow teams and leaders.
How did your experiences in the MHA program prepare you for your career?
It gave me a good understanding of health care and allowed me to network with alums and other health care
organizations. Also, the ability to work with MedZou was a great experience.
What advice do you have for MHA students who want to follow a similar career path?
Take it all in and do as much as you can during those two years. It’s your experiences that set you apart when looking for fellowships or jobs.
What is a favorite memory from your time in the program or a class that you really enjoyed?
Meeting new people, attending ACHE, and participating in (and winning) the CLARION case competition.
Why should potential students get their MHA from Mizzou?
It’s your ticket into the industry if you don’t have a clinical background. Without an MHA, it can be very difficult to get that first job and accelerate your career.
