McCrae Named SHP Senior Scientist

May 13, 2016

Dr. Christina McCrae, currently professor and Chair of the Department of Health Psychology, will be moving from that role to begin her appointment as SHP Senior Scientist, effective May 1, 2016. In her new role, McCrae will focus on building interdisciplinary collaborative research programs between the School of Health Professions and other major research units at MU, including the School of Medicine, the College of Education, the Department of Psychological Sciences and the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. She will also lead other scholarly projects that will enhance the mission of SHP, and will continue to pursue her own robust research program, which includes the potential for a Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic in collaboration with the Department of Neurology.

McCrae said, “I’m excited for the opportunity to focus on research, and be a resource for other faculty as they work to establish successful research programs with external and federal funding.”

“Dr. McCrae has a strong research background, and her experience and success as a research scientist make her ideally suited for this role,” Dean Hagglund said. “Her mentorship in the areas of multi-disciplinary collaboration and external funding will be an asset to faculty in our school and across campus.”
