Hometown: I was born in New Mexico and grew up in St. Louis and Northern California. All my family is now in Columbia, so it has become home!
Title: Student support specialist

What do you like to do in your free time?

I have a 6-year-old, so we’re at Bonkers or Level Up most weekends, and in the summers we go mini golfing. I also love reading, cleaning, and being lazy (haha).

What is the best thing about the College of Health Sciences?

The people — it’s truly a collaborative effort between advisors, department chairs, faculty and staff to make sure students have the best support system during their time at MU. Every person plays an integral role in student success, and there’s just an incredible motivation to make sure that students are truly thriving.

If the CHS advising office hosted a show-and-tell tomorrow, what would you bring?

Probably our two dogs — we have a black lab and a husky who absolutely love people. They’re also very chill and would probably roam the offices looking for treats and pets.

What is the best piece of advice you received when you were a student?

Enjoy the moment; it can be hard for students when they’re pursuing competitive programs or struggling with classes to stop, breathe and just enjoy the moment. College life as a student is a very unique experience that you only get for a relatively short period, so enjoy those moments.

Are you a Mizzou alum?

Yes, Mizzou English class of 2010. M-I-Z!!
