New faculty spotlight: Jeanine Treadway

Aug. 29, 2024

This is part of a series of Q&As introducing faculty who have joined the College of Health Sciences for the 2024–25 academic year. Meet all of our new faculty members.

Jeanine Treadway

Assistant clinical professor and clinical coordinator, Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (Nuclear Medicine)

What classes are you teaching this semester?

I am teaching Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation and Nuclear Clinical Internship II.

Tell us about yourself. What is your background?

I earned my bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine in 2004 from the University of Missouri and began working full time at a small rural hospital. After two years, I moved into a leadership role with SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain and earned my master’s degree in leadership from William Woods University in 2014 before landing back here at Mizzou!

What brought you to Mizzou? To your field?

While attending school at Mizzou, I was fortunate enough to have the best mentors imaginable. I wanted to one day be able to give the same kind of supportive mentorship to aspiring nuclear medicine technologists. Thankfully, I have been given the opportunity to do just that.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

I love being able to connect with students in the classroom and the clinics. I have the privilege of visiting my students and watching them apply the procedures they learned in class and use that knowledge in their clinical work.

What has you excited for this semester?

Getting to know my colleagues and seeing my students thrive in both the classroom and the clinical setting.

What is a fun hobby or activity that you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy jogging — while I am probably the slowest jogger out there, I am still out there.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and who gave it to you?

“Focus on progress and not perfection.” My father-in-law gave me this advice to help me prioritize growth and improvement over unrealistic goals of perfection. It has helped me maintain a positive mindset and persevere through challenges.
