Congratulations to the MU School of Social Work, which earned reaccreditation for its Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work programs until 2028. The School of Social Work has been continually accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) since 1919.

Graduation from a CSWE accredited program is required for a social work license at the bachelors and masters level. Mizzou Social Work graduates have a higher-than-average pass rate on credentialing exams, as well. Ninety-two percent of LMSW and 91 percent of LCSW exam-takers passed on their first attempt at taking the test in 2019.

In accordance with the requirements of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the CSWE administers a multistep accreditation process that involves program self-studies, site visits, and Commission on Accreditation reviews.

“Being given eight years until our next accreditation visit is a verification of the quality of the programs, faculty, and staff working here at the Mizzou School of Social Work,” said Aaron Thompson, PhD, director of the School of Social Work.
