The School of Social Work in the School of Health Professions at the University of Missouri (MU) invites applications for individuals interested in coordinating Field Practicum experiences for students. The position is for an Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor which is a 12-month, 1.0 FTE Ranked, Non-Tenure Track appointment.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of a Master of Social Work (MSW) and 5 years post MSW social work experience, including experience with field education, specifically as a faculty liaison and/or substantial supervision of social work students in field placements.

Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to teach practice and clinical courses as well as a comfort with teaching online classes. Strong written and verbal skills are necessary. Candidates should be comfortable using Office applications, e.g., MS Word and MS Excel, along with online database systems. Exceptional problem-solving and collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple demands and responsibilities are important. Knowledge of the social service delivery system in Boone County and the State of Missouri is an asset.

The mission of the MU School of Social Work is to promote leadership for social and economic justice by preparing students for professional excellence and leadership in practice, research, and policy. MU School of Social Work has 21 faculty (52% tenure/tenure track and 48% non-tenure track) and two full-time staff. The MU School of Health Professions (SHP) is the University of Missouri system’s only school of health professions and the state’s only public health program located on a health sciences campus.
