As of Feb. 19, 2022, the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) voted to continue accreditation for the graduate education program in speech-language pathology at University of Missouri for a period of eight years beginning Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2029.

Department faculty and staff have been working hard since the start of the 2020–21 academic year towards earning this accreditation renewal. Barbara McLay, graduate program director, led the department’s efforts.

“I’m very proud of our program and of the faculty, staff, students, departmental leadership, the School of Health Professions Dean’s Office and on up for obtaining this reaccreditation,” McLay said. “It took everyone working together, and I’m so grateful for all who contributed in both huge and small ways.”

The Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences master’s program in speech-language pathology was the 12th in the nation to receive accreditation from the CAA in 1966 and has been continually accredited since then.
