Why did you choose Health Science at Mizzou?

I chose Health Science because I like the holistic aspect of classes and the supportive environment
that I get from my professors and peers! I enjoy taking Health Science classes with people who may
be going into other careers such as Radiography or Pre-OT. Getting to collaborate on projects and
participate in evidence-based learning has been great for building communication and teamwork
skills, which are really important for anyone planning to go into medicine. Experiences like these
have helped me feel more prepared for the collaborative, patient-focused work I want to do as a
future doctor.

How have you gotten hands-on experience during your time at Mizzou?

My favorite hands-on experience at Mizzou has been shadowing an OBGYN at Boone Hospital. I had the chance to watch a C-section and spend time in the clinic, which was incredibly eye-opening. Seeing patient care up close — everything from appointments to procedures — helped me really understand what a doctor’s day actually looks like.

Why should future students choose Mizzou?

Future students should choose Mizzou because, while our campus seems large, the people truly
make the place. There are so many ways to get involved, and the SEC culture here is so exciting
to be a part of. I am involved in Greek Life on campus, and I love being able to raise money with
my sorority for a philanthropy I’m passionate about while growing with my friends throughout our
four years of college.
