Why did you choose Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Mizzou?
I chose my program because I’ve always wanted to work with kids, and speech-language pathology felt like such a meaningful way to do that. It’s really rewarding to know you can make a difference in someone’s life, especially for kids who might not have easy access to healthcare. Helping meet those needs is what really drew me in.
Why should future students choose Mizzou?
Future students should choose Mizzou because there really is something for everyone, and it’s super easy to get involved. I’m in Sigma Eta Rho, involved in Greek Life, and part of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Science Association, and there are tons of other groups just like these for every interest. Whether you want to get involved socially or through your major, you’ll find your place here.
What has helped you adjust to college life at Mizzou?
My College of Health Sciences advisor has truly made it so easy for me to know what classes I need to take and how to stay on track. She made me feel super supported when I changed my major to Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, and has also helped me get involved within it.
