Get to know Hope:
Why did you choose Health Science at Mizzou?
I chose Health Science at Mizzou because it’s the perfect foundation for my goal of becoming an occupational therapist. I love that OT makes such a meaningful impact by helping people step back into their lives. When something pulls them away from their normal routines, I want to be the person who helps them regain their independence. The Health Science major gives me the background and preparation I need to be successful in this field.
What has been your favorite part of being a student in the College of Health Sciences?
My favorite part of being a student in the College of Health Sciences has been how much I’ve learned about healthcare as a whole. The courses have given me a broader understanding of the healthcare system and helped me see how everything connects.
What makes Mizzou feel like home?
What really helped me feel at home at Mizzou was getting involved in both academic and social groups. Joining smaller clubs made the big campus feel a lot less intimidating and helped me meet people who like the same things I do. It made everything feel more comfortable and familiar really quickly.
