Get to know Katrina:

Why did you choose Medical Laboratory Science at Mizzou?

I chose Mizzou because it allowed me to complete my medical laboratory science clinicals right here in Columbia without having to move to another city or state during my senior year. Staying in one place makes the transition into clinical work so much easier, and it was a big factor in my decision.

What has been your favorite part of being a Mizzou student?

My favorite part of being at Mizzou is all the opportunities it gives you. Being a CHS Ambassador has opened so many doors and helped me meet a ton of new people. I’ve also gotten involved in Greek Life and a biology honor society on campus. All of these groups have made me feel even more connected on campus, and they’ve really helped Mizzou feel like a welcoming community.

How has your time at Mizzou shaped who you are today?

Coming from out of state, Mizzou has made me more outgoing and willing to try new things. Getting involved helped me feel at home—seeing familiar faces in classes each semester really made campus feel like a community. I’ve also gained so much school pride from things like Homecoming and football games.
