Keira Burch

Keira Burch is from St. Paul Minnesota. She is majoring in Health Science with an emphasis in Health and Wellness Services. After graduation, she hopes to attend graduate school to obtain a doctorate degree in occupational therapy.

“I’ve always wanted to be able to help others achieve an optimal state of health and well-being,” Keira says. “Knowing that I can make a direct positive impact on people’s lives is such a rewarding feeling, and a career in healthcare will allow this to happen every day.”

Keira is on the recreational tennis team here at Mizzou. She is also a part of Fighting Pretty Mizzou and the pre-OT organization, POTA.

What is your best advice for incoming Mizzou CHS students?

My best advice for incoming Mizzou CHS students is to not be afraid to explore your options. Even if you are almost positive in what you want to pursue, it is always beneficial to keep an open mind and be willing to learn about other careers. It is super helpful to join CHS related clubs and organizations, and also to attend any event where you can learn more about careers of interest!

What is your favorite study spot on campus?

My favorite study spot on campus is Memorial Union. If you don’t mind doing work in a busier environment, then the main floor is a perfect place to study. If you like less distractions while studying, the upper and ground floors are usually a quieter place to sit!

What is your favorite coffee spot in Columbia?

I am not a coffee person, so one of my favorite places near campus is Bubblecup Tea Zone. My favorite drink to get is the taro milk tea!
