Peyton Myers, from Downers Grove, Illinois, is a Health Science major with an emphasis in Health and Wellness Services. After graduation, Peyton plans to get her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and one day become a pediatric occupational therapist.
“One aspect of my life that I prioritize and greatly value is my dedication to serve others in need,” she says. “The ability to have even the smallest positive impact on another fellow human in a time of need is one of the most noble and rewarding initiatives of anyone in healthcare.”
What else are you involved with on campus?
I am involved in the Greek sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. Within Kappa Kappa Gamma I am the academic coordinator for my pledge class. I am also involved in Alpha Phi Omega, a National Service Fraternity. I am also a member of POTA (Pre-Occupational Therapy Association) and a volunteer with The University of Missouri Occupational Therapy Department’s SWIM program.
What is your favorite study spot on campus?
My favorite study spot on campus is the patio on the backside of Memorial Union. When the weather is nice it is the perfect spot to study with some Starbucks!
Why did you choose Mizzou?
I chose Mizzou because it offers the perfect balance between academics and extracurricular opportunities. Additionally, Mizzou’s Health Science program appealed to me because it offers an immense amount of student resources, internships, hands-on experience, and highly regarded faculty.
