Ashley Douglas, PhD is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Public Health. She earned her PhD from West Virginia University, where she studied nicotine use behavior using laboratory-based experiments and secondary analyses of national datasets. Dr. Douglas has expertise in study design, quantitative data analysis, and scientific writing. Her research interests include opioid use, tobacco use, and rural health disparities. Her work has been published in nationally recognized journals including Drug and Alcohol Dependence, Nicotine and Tobacco Research, and The Journal of Rural Health. Currently, Dr. Douglas works to evaluate a federally funded initiative aimed at reducing opioid-related morbidity and mortality.
