As an interdisciplinary practitioner-scholar, Dr. Chozinski bridges criminological theory, forensic social work, and public health outcomes. Her scholarship and teaching examine the criminal-legal system through the lens of legal epidemiology, treating justice-system involvement as a key social determinant of health. Integrating extensive field experience as a certified crisis intervention specialist and system consultant, she focuses on trauma-informed practice, structural inequality, neurodiversity, and somatic literacy in crisis management. In the classroom, she pairs technical proficiencies—such as spatial analysis (GIS) and digital ethics—with evidence-based self-regulation strategies to prepare future practitioners for high-stakes human service and justice careers.
