Jawata Afnan Saba holds a B.S. in Urban Planning, an M.S. in Geography and Geospatial Science from South Dakota State University, and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Florida (2026). Her research develops uncertainty-aware, dynamic measures of social vulnerability and multi-hazard risk, disaster risk communication, applying machine and deep learning to composite indicator development and disaster risk reduction. At MU, she studies the vulnerabilities associated with nocturnal tornadoes and flash floods. She works at the intersection of geospatial analysis, statistical modeling, and GeoAI.
