Grace Nielson, a senior from Joplin, Missouri, knew she would dedicate her life to public service after her father passed away in the line of duty.

At Mizzou, Nielson has gotten involved as a member of Tour Team, a peer educator for the RVSP Center, and undergraduate student representative for the Women’s Committee for the Chancellor. She is also a Truman Fellowship Finalist and Kinder Scholar. 

In the future, Nielson wants to go into political social work and create and lobby for domestic violence policies. Toward that end, she interns with the Congressional Research Institute for social work and policy.
