Nov. 6, 2025

Name: Jeanne Tucker

Title: Director – Medical Management, GEHA

Mode of MHA degree: Executive

What have you been up to since graduating from the MHA program at Mizzou?

Since graduation, I’ve had the privilege of leading a transformation focused on becoming more agile and
strategic. By engaging a highly-functional team, we streamlined operations, reduced administrative burden,
and refocused our work on strategy, oversight, and governance.

When it comes to your career so far, what are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the opportunity to mentor and help others grow while driving meaningful changes in
healthcare that make a lasting impact on health and quality of life.

How did your experiences in the MHA program prepare you for your career?

Missouri’s Executive MHA program provided the foundation for how I approach leadership and decision-making in healthcare. It equipped me with a deep understanding of policy, law, and business as well as how they
connect across the full continuum of the healthcare system, always beginning with the patient experience.
I’ve applied those lessons to build a strong industry acumen.

What advice do you have for MHA students who want to follow a similar career path?

Build curiosity, resilience, and emotional intelligence — they’ll guide you through both challenge and change.
Say yes to new opportunities, even when they are not anticipated or move you out of your comfort zone, and
stay observant and empathetic toward those you have the privilege to impact. Know your purpose and let it
guide your direction.

What is a favorite memory from your time in the program or a class that you really enjoyed?

My favorite memories are centered around the faculty and classmates. Mizzou’s program
professors had an incredible depth of wisdom and ability to prompt discussion, challenging and expanding
our thinking. Equally meaningful was learning alongside a diverse cohort of healthcare leaders whose
experiences and perspectives enriched discussions, allowing us to learn not just from the curriculum but
from one another’s real-world journeys.

Why should potential students get their MHA from Mizzou?

I encourage potential students to choose Mizzou’s MHA program because it delivers an experience
grounded in the same principles applied by today’s most effective healthcare executives and organizations.
The program integrates strategy, leadership, policy, finance, and business acumen in a way that mirrors the
real-world complexities of today’s dynamic healthcare industry. It not only builds knowledge but also prepares
students to think critically and lead with purpose.
