May 1, 2025

Name: Madeline Cremin

Title: Program Manager: Clinical Operations, Mayo Clinic in Florida

Mode of MHA degree: Residential

What have you been up to since graduating from the MHA program at Mizzou?

Since graduating from the University of Missouri’s MHA program in 2022, I launched my career as an
Administrative Fellow at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida. This fellowship was an invaluable
experience that allowed me to apply the knowledge and skills gained from the MHA program to a variety of
strategic initiatives and operational projects within the organization. It provided hands-on exposure to
healthcare administration at an executive level, deepening my understanding of leadership, strategy and
system-wide decision-making.

Following my fellowship, I transitioned to Mayo Clinic in Florida, where I now serve as a Program Manager
for our Executive Health and Development Clinical Programs. In this role, I oversee program operations,
and strategic planning, as well as process improvement efforts to enhance the patient experience for high-profile and
executive-level patients. Working in this capacity has allowed me to contribute to Mayo Clinic’s mission
while continuing to grow as a healthcare leader.

Beyond my professional role, I remain actively engaged with the Mizzou MHA program as a member of the
MHA Alumni Organization Board, where I serve as the Chair of Communications. In this position, I help
facilitate engagement between alumni and the College of Health Sciences, fostering a strong professional
network and supporting the next generation of healthcare leaders. Staying connected with the program has
been incredibly rewarding, as it allows me to give back to the institution that played such a pivotal role in my
career development.

When it comes to your career so far, what are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my current initiative to launch a Longevity Program at Mayo Clinic in Florida. This project
has been pivotal in my professional development, providing the opportunity to build a program from the
ground up. More importantly, it aligns with my passion for impacting healthcare and revolutionizing how we
deliver care.

How did your experiences in the MHA program prepare you for your career?

The MHA program was a pivotal foundation for my career in healthcare administration, providing the
essential knowledge needed to navigate the field.

Beyond academics, the mentorship and alumni network were instrumental in shaping my career path. While
in the program, I connected with a recent graduate and former Administrative Fellow at Nicklaus Children’s
Health System, whose guidance was invaluable in preparing for my fellowship interviews and navigating the
process. Additionally, an alumni and operations administrator at Mayo Clinic played a key role in connecting
me to the organization and advocating for my opportunity there.

These connections not only provided mentorship but also opened doors that directly influenced my career
trajectory.

What advice do you have for MHA students who want to follow a similar career path?

Network, network, network — and take ownership of your career. Get involved in the healthcare system as
much as possible, as every experience will serve a purpose in the long run.

Always keep the bigger picture in mind. For example, working as a scheduler at a hospital may seem like a
small role, but it provides invaluable insight into how patients enter the system. Each opportunity, no matter
how small, offers a lesson that will help prepare you for the next step in your career. Stay proactive, seek out
meaningful experiences and leverage every opportunity to grow!

What is a favorite memory from your time in the program or a class that you really enjoyed?

One of my favorite memories was when my cohort and the first-year students came together to form an
intramural volleyball team. Even though I wasn’t the best player, it was a great opportunity to connect
outside the classroom. These moments of camaraderie made the program feel even more special —
reminding me that beyond academics and career aspirations, building relationships and sharing experiences
is what truly makes a journey meaningful.

Why should potential students get their MHA from Mizzou?

Mizzou’s MHA program provides a strong foundation in healthcare administration while offering hands-on
experiences that prepare students for real-world challenges. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge
with practical applications, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the
healthcare industry.

One of Mizzou’s greatest strengths is its tight-knit community and expansive alumni network. The program
fosters strong mentorship opportunities, connecting students with industry leaders who provide invaluable
guidance and career support. This network has opened doors for countless graduates, including myself, by
facilitating connections to fellowships, internships, and career opportunities at top healthcare
organizations.

Additionally, Mizzou’s faculty and leadership are deeply invested in student success. Their support,
combined with opportunities for networking, leadership development, and hands-on learning, makes this
program an excellent choice for those looking to launch or advance their career in healthcare
administration.
