Anthropedia partnership offers Health and Wellness Coach Certification Program

Sep. 23, 2025

The University of Missouri College of Health Sciences is excited to launch a new online, non-degree certificate program in health and wellness coaching. Through a partnership with Anthropedia, the certificate will be taught by Kevin Cloninger, teaching professor in the Department of Health Sciences. Dr. Cloninger is the former executive director of the Anthropedia Foundation and a leading scholar in health and wellness.

“I’m thrilled to help bring this training to life at Mizzou,” Cloninger said. “In a world facing so many complex challenges, health and wellness coaching offers a powerful way to support resilience, growth and well-being. Becoming a coach means stepping into a rapidly expanding field that is shaping the future of well-being for individuals and communities alike.”

Kristofer Hagglund, dean of the College of Health Sciences, expressed enthusiasm for the new program and its alignment with the college’s broader offerings.

“Health and wellness coaching is the perfect complement to other health care practices with its holistic, integrated approach to well-being,” Hagglund said. “It’s inspiring to see the field come into its own, and I’m excited for our students to be part of this important and rapidly expanding profession.”
