The College of Health Sciences welcomed 45 local students from grades 5-12 to campus in Oct. 4 for the Caleb Science Club Mini Sessions, a hands-on event designed to build interest in health science careers. Hosted by the CHS Office of Student Access & Scholars Initiatives, the event featured five interactive sessions led by CHS faculty, staff and students to spotlight disciplines like respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, nuclear medicine, public health and medical laboratory science.
Students rotated through 20-minute sessions that enabled them to experiment, ask questions and explore real-world applications of science in health care. The Caleb Science Club serves as a bridge between the Mizzou College of Health Sciences and the local community, offering young learners a glimpse into the possibilities of a career in health sciences. Many participants left inspired, eager to learn more and envision themselves as future health professionals.
The Office of Student Access & Scholars Initiatives extends heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who made this event possible and to the students who brought their enthusiasm and curiosity to campus.
