The College of Health Sciences has reached a historic milestone in philanthropic giving. During fiscal year 2025 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025), donors contributed and pledged more than $6.4 million — a remarkable increase from the previous year’s total of $1.6 million.
This unprecedented support was anchored by a generous estate gift from Leonard and Barbara Bush of Monroe, Tennessee. In addition, Dr. David Cravens, a retired local physician, significantly increased his estate commitment to the college. Both the Bushes and Dr. Cravens have established endowments with their estate gifts that will provide financial support for both faculty and students for generations to come.
In all, 257 generous donors made financial contributions to the College of Health Sciences in FY25. Those gifts are making a meaningful impact across campus:
- Eight new scholarships supporting students in Health Sciences, Health Administration, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Social Work.
- Two new endowed professorships providing vital support for faculty excellence.
- One new innovation fund to help launch emerging initiatives within the college.
- Numerous gifts to advance departments and programs in the college.
“This record-setting year reflects the incredible momentum within the College of Health Sciences and the unwavering generosity of our alumni and friends,” said Todd Pridemore, senior advancement director. “We are profoundly grateful for their support of our mission to improve health and well-being.”
