Explore your future in health care

Interested in a career in health care? Whether you want to work directly with patients or behind the scenes in research, technology, or administration, the Mizzou Health Sciences Camp is the perfect opportunity to discover the many pathways in the field!

Over the course of this week-long camp, you’ll engage in hands-on activities, interactive simulations, and real-world case studies led by experts in healthcare professions. You’ll gain insight into fields such as public health, clinical laboratory science, physical and occupational therapy, health administration, radiography, and more.

2027 Camp details

  • Who should attend: High school juniors and seniors interested in exploring careers in health care

What you’ll experience

  • Hands-On Learning: Participate in interactive workshops covering topics like medical imaging, disease prevention, rehabilitation sciences, and healthcare leadership.
  • Real-World Simulations: Step into the role of a health care professional by solving patient cases and working through health science challenges.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Access: Tour state-of-the-art labs and clinical spaces where health care professionals diagnose, treat, and support patient care.
  • Meet the Experts: Engage with faculty, health care providers, and students to learn about different career paths and how to prepare for college and beyond.

Camp activities

  • Lead Your Own Hospital: Design a functional hospital while balancing budgets, staffing, and patient care.
  • Outbreak Investigation: Act as public health experts to trace the source of an outbreak and contain it.
  • Blood Typing Lab: Work in a clinical lab setting to determine blood types and understand transfusions.
  • Health Science Escape Room: Solve medical puzzles and diagnostic challenges to “save” a patient in this immersive experience.
