Iris Zachary appointed Fellow of AMIA

Congratulations to Iris Zachary, Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center director and associate research professor in the Department of Public Health, on being selected for induction as a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA).

Dr. Zachary is among 84 new fellows selected to join the community of more than 500 FAMIA inductees. Zachary will formally be inducted into FAMIA on May 22-23 during the association’s 2024 Clinical Informatics Conference in Minneapolis.

The American Medical Informatics Association is the leading professional association for informatics professionals and the center of action for more than 5,500 informatics professionals from more than 65 countries. The AMIA and its members help assess the effect of health innovations on health policy and advance the field of informatics.

The MCR cancer surveillance team curates and analyzes cancer incidence across the state, with the registry serving as a local and national resource for population-based studies including causes, treatments and outcomes in patients with cancer.
