Dana Martin, PT, DSc, has been selected to serve as associate dean for clinical education and services in the Mizzou College of Health Sciences, effective Aug. 1. The newly created role reflects the college’s commitment to excellence in hands-on clinical training and services.
A licensed physical therapist and teaching professor, Martin brings more than 20 years of experience to the role. She joined the Mizzou Department of Physical Therapy in 2009 as director of clinical education and most recently oversaw operations for PhysZOU, a pro bono physical therapy clinic. She also serves as a credentialed trainer for the American Physical Therapy Association’s Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program.
“Dr. Martin has spent her career building connections between academic programs and clinicians,” said Dean Stephanie Reid-Arndt. “She understands the importance of clinical services and of supporting both students and clinical partners to ensure high-quality training experiences.”
As associate dean, Martin will work to advance the college’s clinical education and service mission, collaborating with programs across the college to support student clinical placements and clinic operations. She’ll also work with key partners like MU Health Care to grow clinical education and service opportunities.
“I’m excited to build relationships across the college and with our clinical partners,” Martin said. “Those partnerships are critical to preparing students for meaningful, in-demand careers and helping meet Missouri’s health care workforce needs.
“I came to Mizzou as a student and never imagined I would still be here 20+ years later. Mizzou has so much to offer, but what makes it truly special is the people. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the college and shape the next generation of health professionals.”
