Master of Health Administration Graduate Student Association (MHAGSA) Semester Review

June 3, 2025

Here is an update from the Master of Health Administration Graduate Student Association (MHAGSA):

This past semester has been a whirlwind of learning, leadership, and a whole lot of Mizzou pride for the Master of Health Administration Graduate Student Association (MHAGSA)!

We kicked things off with two insightful educational events—one focused on the ever-important topic of work-life balance (because yes, you can recharge without feeling guilty!), and another dedicated to mastering the ins and outs of LinkedIn. From profile polish to powerful networking tips, we’re now more ready than ever to connect and stand out professionally.

We were also proud to send three of our members to the ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Houston, Texas, this March. They returned inspired and energized, bringing back valuable insights to share with the rest of us.

On the fundraising front, we got creative (and a little sugar-happy) with a bake sale and T-shirt sales to support our ongoing initiatives. And don’t worry—we’re just getting started! We’ve got three new fundraising events planned for the fall, so stay tuned for the sweet details.

Service and community were also at the heart of our spring semester. From volunteering at the Food Bank, Colony Pinte Assisted Living Facility, Caring for Columbia, and tying blankets for MU Children’s Birthing Center, we stayed committed to giving back. But we made sure to have a little fun too—hosting BINGO nights, cheering on Mizzou at spring sports, and closing out the semester in style with our annual Spring Formal for the entire MHA class.

Looking ahead to the Fall, we are aiming even higher: plans are underway to adopt an official philanthropy, introduce executive student memberships, and support ACHE student memberships. Most of all, we’re excited to welcome the incoming MHA class and continue growing MHAGSA into a dynamic, supportive, and inclusive community.
