Career interest: Upper management or federal health care sector 

“I chose to pursue an MHA to further my learning and career options.”

Career interest: Military medicine

Sara Kasukurthy

Undergrad: Vishwa Bharathi College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guntur

Career interest: Hospital administrator or director

“I chose to pursue an MHA to better understand and improve my self in hospital administration, health status, disparities in communities, how to analyze, face and improve those, implementing health equality and resource distribution.”

Sara has been supported by both her professional and academic departments and by Melissa, her team lead.

Kaelyn Kramp

Hoffman Estates, Illinois

Undergrad: University of Missouri- Columbia

Career interest: To attend medical school after this program and become a pediatrician.

“I chose to pursue an MHA to expand my knowledge and learn more about how our health care system is run and what is done that is beyond the physicians and nurses. I want to have a further understanding of how our health care system works beyond what I learned in undergrad and what I will learn in medical school.”

Kaelyn’s friends and family have been her main system of support.

Micah Linthacum

Micah’s career interests are “very open,” and she says she’d enjoy working within leadership at a health care organization or hospital.

“I have always enjoyed the health care field and helping others, and I also have a desire to continue to grow in every area of my personal leadership and make an impact.”

“My family has been an incredible support to me throughout my university experience. My teammates within the basketball program here at Mizzou have also helped me greatly along the way.”

Julie Mannarino

Career interest: Director of operations for research center

Britney pursued an MHA degree because she wanted to move up in her career. Her favorite part of the program has been meeting the people, and she has been supported by her friends, family and professors.

Career interests: Health care and not-for-profits

“In light of the recent merge between MU Health Care and Capitol Region Medical Center, I decided that now was a good time for me to return to school to complete a master’s degree. It is something that I have always wanted to do!”

Mackenzie Schwaller

Vandalia, Missouri

Career interest: Health care administration

“My long term goal is to work in hospital leadership or state leadership.”

Mackenzie’s favorite class has been Brian Hensel’s. She has been supported by David Moxley, Laura Butkievich and Addie Colbert throughout her MHA journey.

Nicole Seamon

Columbia, Missouri

MHA format: Executive

Undergrad: University of Missouri- Columbia and Moberly Area Community College

Career interest: Nursing leadership

Nicole decided to pursue an MHA because she wants to manage in health care situations like an outpatient clinic, urgent care or health department.

Her favorite class is, “anything Dr. Hensel teaches,” and she appreciates the support David Moxley, her classmate Kenya Hardiman and her family have offered her throughout her MHA journey.

Paige Tate

Spokane, Missouri

Undergrad: Lyon College

Career interest: Private practice manager

“I think an MHA will provide me with the best way to impact health care. I prefer the administrative side over clinical.”

Career interests: Long-term care and hospital administration

“I got my undergraduate degree and decided I wanted to join the workforce. Turns out most of the jobs available were sales-based jobs, which I did not really want to do, so I came back to school to have the jobs available that I envisioned myself having after my undergrad.”

“My parents and friends, my mentor at Optum, and one of my teachers from undergrad continue to support me during my MHA degree.”
