What do you like to do in your free time?

I love attending and following sports. I’ve always been a huge follower of women’s basketball, women’s volleyball and softball, (I have had season tickets here at Mizzou for a long time), but I’ll watch about any sport. I also play a lot of pickleball in my spare time, and I love to travel and spend time with friends.

What is the best thing about the College of Health Sciences?

The students and colleagues I get to work with every day. I truly think we have some of the best, most caring students in CHS and am a big believer that our graduates impact the world in such positive ways.

If the CHS advising office hosted a show-and-tell tomorrow, what would you bring?

Some advising worksheets and a computer to run degree audits. We always love it when students show up to appointments prepared and with questions!

What is the best piece of advice you received when you were a student?

To truly engage in the college process both in and out of the classroom. And not to get too fixated on what my career was going to be in 10, 20, or 30 years.

I have degrees in accounting and finance, as well as an MBA, and I’m working in higher education student services. I would have never said that this would be the type of work I would enjoy or be doing 17 years later.

That said, I still use much of what I learned while in those programs. I feel like I found this path because I engaged with people and built connections outside the classroom, and I truly explored what my strengths were and how to use those in various career avenues.
