What do you like to do in your free time?

Spend time with my family, walk our dog, bake and garden. 

What is the best thing about the College of Health Sciences?

My advisees care about and want to improve the lives of others. It’s rewarding to know I played a role in helping future health care professionals reach their career goals. 

If the CHS advising office hosted a show-and-tell tomorrow, what would you bring?

A pothos plant. I wanted something to spruce up my office when I started as an academic advisor in 2011, and I have been growing pothos (and other houseplants) since. I take care of most of the greenery on the first floor of Lewis.

What is the best piece of advice you received when you were a student?

I don’t recall a specific piece of advice I received, but one of my professors went out of his way to encourage me, surprised me with a scholarship nomination and took an interest in my goals. As you’re forging lifelong relationships in college, remember to get to know your instructors, too!
