Meet your student support team: Sarah Anthony
Jan. 22, 2024
Sarah Anthony
Hometown: I am originally from Farmington, Missouri, but I’ve lived in Columbia most of my life and consider it home.
Title: Assistant director of student records and systems
What do you like to do in your free time?
Columbia has a great food and coffee scene, so I enjoy going out with friends and family. Otherwise, I enjoy baking — I made a sourdough starter recently, which was fun — going to Cardinals games, antiquing and traveling. I visited Maine this fall and enjoyed being outdoors and experiencing a new place. It was beautiful!
What is the best thing about the College of Health Sciences?
I’m an alumna of CHS, and my answer to this question is always the same: the people. Staff, faculty and students in CHS are some of the most caring, loyal and fun individuals I’ve had the pleasure to meet. It’s a privilege to work with them! I’m grateful to be part of a service-oriented, dedicated group like the one here in CHS.
If the CHS advising office hosted a show-and-tell tomorrow, what would you bring?
Probably a loaf of homemade sourdough bread or cinnamon rolls. Part of the fun of baking is getting to share the goodies!
What is the best piece of advice you received when you were a student?
Don’t compare your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel. In today’s world where everything is on display, this can be a challenge to remember. We all have unique skills, interests and stories, all of which are important. You have something to offer that no one else does. Be consistent in doing what you enjoy, what challenges you and what allows you to be a help to others, and your impact will be far-reaching.
Are you a Mizzou alum?
I am, and I’m a graduate of the Health Science program!
