Mizzou Made 2024: Khayla Pittman, OTD

Read on to learn more about Khayla Pittman of Fulton, Missouri, who is completing her Occupational Therapy Doctorate.

What does graduating from the Mizzou College of Health Sciences mean to you?

I am the first in my family to graduate from college! I am thrilled to be a trailblazer for my family, and I hope to encourage my nieces and nephews to find their paths.

What was one of your favorite classes within your degree track?

My pediatric practicum experiences have been the most influential and enjoyable courses during my time in the MU OTD program. Being able to learn and work with real clients in TigerOT and the Robert G. Combs Language Preschool was extremely rewarding.

Who helped you during your college journey?

My family has been the biggest support for me during my time in the program. They encouraged me during hard times and celebrated with me during my successes.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to find work in a pediatric setting.

What advice do you have for current and future students?

Get organized, find good support, and try new things!
