An interesting fact about you:
I am a proud morning person, I love to up and about in the top half of the day.
What does graduating from the Mizzou College of Health Sciences mean to you?
I am very proud to be graduating from my hometown college from such a wonderful school. Our College of Health Sciences is full of wonderful and caring people who have left me inspired and just so grateful to have gotten the chance to learn from them.
What was one of your favorite classes within your degree track?
There was not a single class that wasn’t a challenge, but they have all paid off to leave me ahead of my peers from other ultrasound programs. I loved our first scan lab class and have fond memories of first learning to scan with my classmates.
What activities have you been involved in along the way?
I was a dance teacher at Columbia Dance Academy here in town, which was a wonderful creative outlet. I also love taking fitness classes at MizzouRec and meeting other majors from different programs and schools.
Who helped you during your college journey?
Each and every one of our Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound professors has been one of the most diligent and caring instructors I have ever known. They have no idea how much their time, patience and kindness have meant to each of us in this program. Alice, Dee, Janell, Erin and Doug; please know how appreciated and wonderful you all are!
What memories stand out from your time at Mizzou?
I love taking walks around campus and just taking in my brief but meaningful time here. I have met a lot of really cool people and reconnected with fellow townies along the way.
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be finishing my adult cardiac clinical rotation here at University Hospital and will start my first ultrasound job as a student tech with MU Pediatric Echo, with the hope of going full time upon graduation! So excited to get my first job here at home with the system connected to the university.
What advice do you have for current and future students?
Don’t be afraid to use the resources the college has for you. There are a lot of people who would love to help you be successful, just reach out and ask! Also enjoy your time with your fellow classmates; these people are in the trenches with you, and you will look back fondly at the time studying or hanging out with them.
