Favorite quote:

An interesting fact about you:

My favorite season is fall.

What does graduating from the Mizzou College of Health Sciences mean to you?

Graduating from the College of Health Sciences means that I have been equipped with the knowledge and skills to take on occupational therapy school. It represents four years of hard work and dedication to entering the health care field to improve the well-being of those whom I will serve. The College of Health Sciences has given me opportunities that I would have never imagined, and given me skills that I will be applying as I continue on my journey to become an occupational therapist. I am confident that the education that I have received from the University of Missouri has equipped me for my future endeavors.

What was one of your favorite classes within your degree track?

One of my favorite classes was HLTH SCI 2850: Inclusion and Equity in Health Care. I truly enjoyed this class as it allowed me to develop and understand what it looks like to respect and care for patients of different backgrounds in a health care setting. This class allowed me to learn from perspectives other than my own and how to be inclusive as a future health care provider. I was able to go through real-life scenarios and find solutions to combat real-life obstacles. This was an amazing experience, and I would recommend this course to everyone.

What activities have you been involved in along the way?

I have been involved with the Salt Company, SWIM: Swimming and Water Instruction Modified for Autism Spectrum Disorder, College of Health Sciences Student Ambassador Leadership Team, Minority Association of Pre-Health Students, 2024 College of Health Sciences Black Alumni Panel Committee, and Students of East Africa

Who helped you during your college journey?

My parents as well as the community that I’ve formed during my time at Mizzou, from friends, professors, grad students, advisors and faculty members, have helped me so much throughout this journey. The community that I’ve formed at Mizzou has provided me support and encouragement throughout college. I couldn’t have done it without them. I’m also so grateful to have been given such a great advisor who helped me navigate college and prepare for occupational therapy school.

What memories stand out from your time at Mizzou?

My time at Mizzou has been filled with many amazing memories. One of my favorite memories is spending quality time with my friends. Whether it would be going on a road trip, going out to eat, game days, ice cream runs, exploring nature or game nights. It’s always been so much fun, and these moments are something that I will always cherish.

What are your plans after graduation?

I will be staying at the University of Missouri to pursue my Occupational Therapy Doctorate. I’m so excited to be staying a Tiger!

What advice do you have for current and future students?

My advice for current and future students is to get involved as much as you can and enjoy your college journey. The more that you get involved, the more that campus starts to feel like home. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, because you will never know what opportunities that you will receive. Make the most of every opportunity, set goals and focus on school without forgetting to live in the moment. Embrace your college journey and enjoy your time in college, it all goes by fast.
