What brought you to Mizzou?
I was born and raised a Mizzou fan since I’m from Ashland, MO. It was a natural choice to want to work for Mizzou and the timing was right for myself and my family. I’ve loved my time as a Tiger so far.
How long have you been with Mizzou?
I’ve been with MU Extension for 5 years now.
Please say a few words about your work with healthy aging.
The work I do in the area of healthy longevity and falls prevention directly impacts the people we serve. We literally give people a better quality of life and help them remain independent just by helping them move more and feel more confident in their activities of daily living. How could you not love being a part of that?
What are you most excited about in the upcoming semester ?
I will be a part of the new Fitness Programming Management degree and we are currently planning out our upcoming classes and developing those Canvas sites for our future students. My MU Extension programmatic research never stops, but we will be submitting a few publications to increase our evidence base and will be starting a new project with our self-care program.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Usually, I am chasing my 4- and 2-year-old kiddos, which keeps me and my husband pretty busy. When I am not doing that, I love to be active, be outdoors, read and work on house projects. I am also an avid sports fan and can’t wait for college football season.
