Alese Thompson recognized for contributions to clinical laboratory science
Alese Thompson, clinical site coordinator and assistant clinical professor of Clinical Laboratory Science, has been honored for her contributions to clinical laboratory science education and the field itself. Thompson was recently selected by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) as one of eight recipients nationwide of the 2024 ASCLS Voices Under 40 Spotlight. The recognition honors ASCLS members at a young age in their professional careers who have shown exceptional commitment to the society, the laboratory profession, and their communities at large. Mentoring the health care experts of tomorrow
Students from across the College of Health Sciences participated in the Tomorrow’s Health Care Experts Expo put on by MU Health Care on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia. The event was attended by hundreds of high school students from across mid-Missouri. The expo was designed to help these students learn about potential career paths within the health care industry. Workshops designed to help students get into research
By Rebecca Spezzano College of Health Sciences students interested in building their skills as researchers are in luck, as a series of virtual workshops this fall can help them work toward Student Training for Advancing Research (S.T.A.R.) certification. The S.T.A.R. program was created by the Mizzou Office of Undergraduate Research. To earn the credential, students must complete five or more qualifying workshops. Photo gallery: Clark Hall grand opening
The Mizzou College of Health Sciences recently celebrated the completion of about $6 million in renovations to Clark Hall. The project started in August 2023 and wrapped up in the summer of 2024, with work completed to more than 15,000 square feet of the building.
