Mizzou program ranked in top third of speech-language pathology programs

The MU School of Health Professions is pleased to announce the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences  (SLHS) Department moved up 20 places in the latest U.S. News and & World Report national rankings for Best Speech-Language Pathology Program.

The program moved from #92 in the country to #72, out of 261 total programs, which places it in the top third of SLP programs in the nation.

The rankings are based on ratings from faculty at peer institutions.

“These rankings speak to our national reputation as researchers and also educators,” SLHS Department Chair Stacy Wagovich said (pictured, left). “The faculty from other institutions know of our faculty because of their research or clinical reputations. Faculty from around the country also know us because of the quality of our graduates. We are very proud of our alumni! They represent us well, both in Missouri and nationally, as leaders in our field.”

Highlights of the Speech-Language Pathology program include opportunities for students to work in on-campus clinics before their outside clinical rotations, as well as participate in research.
