Stephanie Snyder named director of advancement

June 4, 2024

Stephanie Snyder has joined the College of Health Sciences as a new director of advancement.

Snyder, who most recently was an advancement officer with the MU College of Arts and Science, will be tasked with building relationships with alumni around the country and growing philanthropic support for CHS students, faculty, and other priorities. Snyder said she was drawn to this opportunity because of the work taking place to improve lives through diverse and innovative approaches in healthcare.

“After nearly 20 years in higher education, I have seen first-hand and understand the impact that well-funded programs and support can have on student outcomes,” Snyder said. “I am also passionate about identifying, understanding and meeting health-related needs within our communities — especially in underserved populations — so when I discovered that CHS students spend more than 80,000 hours outside of the classroom helping patients each year through clinics and community outreach programs, I knew I had to at least explore this opportunity.”

Snyder will work in tandem with CHS advancement directors Todd Pridemore and Michelle Custer to bring fundraising in the college to new heights. Last year set new records for philanthropy at the college, with more than $2 million in fundraising and sponsored support.

Pridemore said Snyder’s experiences with the College of Arts and Science at Mizzou as well as in student-focused positions at Columbia College give her a unique perspective that enables her to communicate the real needs of students to prospective donors.

“More than anything else, I’m excited about Stephanie’s natural ability to build and develop meaningful relationships,” Pridemore said. “She is a sincere, honest and extremely competent advancement professional. I’m confident that the alumni and friends that she meets around the country will feel the same way as they get to know her. Stephanie will be a tremendous asset in raising the bar of CHS philanthropic support to an entirely new level.”

Snyder earned a bachelor’s degree in art and education from Columbia College and a master’s degree in human services from Wilmington University. She’s involved in her local church and various community programs, and she enjoys traveling and being outdoors with her husband, Drew, and their dogs, Charlie and Rosie.
