April 2, 2022
Six Health Professions students were selected to participate in the 2022 Rural Immersion Program. This year’s participants will travel to Monett, Missouri, June 21-24.
The Rural Immersion Program is a four-day experience for health professions students who are interested in living and working in a rural area. This is a non-clinical experience designed to highlight the social and communal aspects of rural life.
Students will break into groups that include members of each of the health care disciplines to foster a diversity of thought and experience. Each group will spend time interviewing community leaders from one of the four emphasis areas: business and government, education, healthcare, and natural resources. At the end of the week, students will present their findings to the other student groups and members of the community.
