Congratulations to the three Health Professions students who were added to the newest cohorts of Mizzou 18 and Mizzou ’39 earlier this week!
Every spring, 18 graduate students and 39 seniors are honored for their outstanding achievements, academic success, and contributions to Mizzou and the Columbia community.
On Tuesday evening, Kennedi Keyes, an MHS student in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences was revealed as part of this year’s Mizzou 18 cohort. Keyes is from Chicago, and also served the School of Health Professions as a student ambassador as an undergraduate student. Keyes recognized Cheri Ghan, Health Professions recruitment coordinator, as her mentor.
“What a joy that Mizzou has recognized this spectacular woman!” Ghan says. “She has excelled in her program, and I know she is going to be an amazing speech-language pathologist.”

On Wednesday, Haviland Blevins, from DeSoto, Texas, and Schyyler Davis, from Joliet, Illinois, were named to Mizzou ’39.
Blevins and Davis are both majoring in Health Science, and both women chose Velma Buckner, adviser for the Legion of Black Collegians adviser and coordinator for the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center coordinator as their mentor.
Congratulations again, Kennedi, Haviland and Schyyler! We are so proud to have you represent our school.
