Biography

Carmen Casanova Abbott is a clinical professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia Department of Physical Therapy.  Her area of clinical expertise is in the area of neurological rehabilitation with competency certifications in adult and pediatric vestibular examination and rehabilitation.  Her clinical expertise provides the framework for her teaching and research endeavors.  Her research activities are carried out in conjunction with the University of Missouri-Columbia Interdisciplinary Technology for the Eldercare research Multidisciplinary Group, the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Department of Physical Therapy.  She continues to consult and practice at the Mizzou Therapy Services for the University of Missouri Health in the areas of vestibular examination and management of adult and pediatric patients with impairments in oculomotor and vestibular function.
