School of Social Work faculty member wins Faculty Council Shared Governance Award
April 20, 2022 Alexandria Lewis, assistant teaching professor in the School of Social Work, received the individual Shared Governance Award from the MU Faculty Council last week. The award recognizes a member of the MU community who has made a significant contribution to shared governance. Below are excerpts from her nominator’s letter. “She brings her years of service in the U.S. Army to the Military and Veterans Campus Standing Committee, on which she has served since 2018. Veterans and military personnel can face special challenges in negotiating higher education, and they also bring commitment, talent, and skills that Alex recognizes.

Social Work faculty member receives Tribute to Women Award
March 29, 2022 Kathleen Preble, School of Social Work assistant professor, received the Jordan Hoyt Memorial Tribute to Women Award at the MU Tribute to Women banquet March 15. Speech-language pathology graduate program receives reaccreditation
March 21, 2022 By Kelsey Carroll As of Feb. 19, 2022, the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) voted to continue accreditation for the graduate education program in speech-language pathology at University of Missouri for a period of eight years beginning Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2029. Department faculty and staff have been working hard since the start of the 2020–21 academic year towards earning this accreditation renewal. Jennifer Keely named Director of Respiratory Therapy Programs
March 1, 2022 Jennifer Keely, M Ed, RRT, RRT-ACCS, has been named director of MU respiratory therapy programs effective March 1.
