Alese Thompson recognized for contributions to clinical laboratory science

Alese Thompson, clinical site coordinator and assistant clinical professor of Clinical Laboratory Science, has been honored for her contributions to clinical laboratory science education and the field itself.  Thompson was recently selected by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) as one of eight recipients nationwide of the 2024 ASCLS Voices Under 40 Spotlight. Mentoring the health care experts of tomorrow

Students from across the College of Health Sciences participated in the Tomorrow’s Health Care Experts Expo put on by MU Health Care on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia.  The event was attended by hundreds of high school students from across mid-Missouri. Margo Leitschuh, BHS ’16 Outstanding Young Alumni Margo Leitschuh (second from right) completed her BHS in Health Science in 2016 and has emerged as a national leader in college student health and well-being. A total of 1,603 Health Sciences students made the spring 2024 dean’s list. To qualify for the dean’s list in the College of Health Sciences, a student must earn a 3.30 GPA in a minimum of 12 graded (A-F) credit hours.
