Diki Lama, senior student service coordinator for the Master of Health Administration program, will receive the 2024 Staff Advisory Council Inclusive Excellence Award at the annual MU Staff Recognition Ceremony May 23. This award goes to staff members who “embody the university’s commitment to growing and sustaining a diverse and inclusive learning, living, and working environment.”

Her nominator, Sue Boren, wrote that Lama’s “ability to communicate across cultures positions Ms. Lama as a pivotal figure in bridging diverse communities. This linguistic dexterity and cultural sensitivity enhance her capability to foster an inclusive environment where every member’s background is respected and valued.

“Ms. Lama’s initiatives have transformed the MHA graduate program into a dynamic and supportive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equity. Her work ensures that the program remains a welcoming space for students, alumni, and the broader community. Ms. Lama, in addition to being a highly effective senior student services coordinator, is also a visionary leader whose efforts have had a lasting impact on the MHA program. She is an invaluable asset to our team and educational community.”
