Faculty get $350,000 Transforming Academia for Equity research grant

A team of researchers with ties to the Mizzou College of Health Sciences have received a $350,000 Transforming Academia for Equity research grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The project, which focuses on promoting health equity work through teaching and research, is led by Michelle Teti and Enid Schatz, professors with the Department of Public Health. This is the second round of funding for the interdisciplinary team, which received $300,000 in 2022. The research team also includes:

  • Kaleea Lewis, assistant professor with the Department of Public Health
  • Kathleen Preble, assistant professor with the School of Social Work
  • Susana Quiros, assistant teaching professor with the Department of Public Health
  • Brian Houston, professor and chair of the Department of Public Health
  • David Mitchell, Ruth L. Hulston Professor with the School of Law and co-director of the Michael A. Middleton Center for Race, Citizenship and Justice
