Mizzou students recognized by Missouri Public Health Association

The Missouri Public Health Association has announced their award winners!
Each year, MPHA makes awards to deserving students in the field of public health. Two Mizzou Master of Public Health students won awards this year: Devin Hursey received The Edna Dell Weinel Scholarship, and Kayla Reil received the Health Profession Scholarship.
MPH student Kayla Riel
Hursey, of Lees Summit, Missouri, works for the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. His responsibilities include HIV prevention, sexual health and treatment adherence education to people living with HIV.
Riel works for Live Well By Faith to assist with the varying projects associated with the organization, as well as program development and diabetes prevention. Kayla also recently completed an internship at the Miller County Health Department in Tuscumbia, Missouri.
In addition, Dr. Albert Hsu, along with the Boone County Medical Society, received the Group Merit Award. They were nominated by Lynelle Phillips, public health assistant teaching professor. Dr. Hsu is not directly affiliated with the School of Health Professions, but has welcomed many School of Health Professions student interns this past year, and his contributions to public health are invaluable.
